Internship Title: MIP Intern to Industry (Spring 2025)

Location: San Diego Mesa College, Department: Mesa Impactship Program (MIP)

Program Overview: Are you looking to kickstart your professional journey and gain valuable skills before diving into a full-fledged internship? Join our Intern to Industry- MIP Career Preparation Course powered by the Mesa Impactship Program (MIP)

This course/internship is designed to provide students foundational skills and the confidence to succeed in future internships and career opportunities. Students participate in an internship on campus supporting projects through the MIP Department.

This internship is unpaid-for college credit. Hired applicants will receive a one-time $1000 payment for completion of work and MIP Program. 

Program Duration: Spring 2025 - 03/03/2025 - 06/02/2025 - 54 hours

*ELIGIBILITY NOTE:  Applicants and hired candidate(s) must participate in the Mesa Impactship Program (MIP) and enroll in a 1-unit Work Experience course - WORK 272. MIP Interns must commit to work on campus 4-5 hours per week, including attendance at in-person team meetings on Mondays from 2:00-3:30pm. Learn more about MIP here. Questions? Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Update Meetings:
    • Participate in project update meetings.
    • Assist in creating agendas and running meetings.
    • Develop organizational and leadership skills.
  2. Video Production:
    • Produce a promotional video showcasing campus programs and initiatives.
    • Learn the basics of video editing and creative storytelling.
    • Collaborate with peers to brainstorm and execute video projects.
  3. Social Media Management:
    • Plan and schedule 2-3 engaging social media posts per week.
    • Research current trends and best practices for social media engagement.
    • Create visually appealing and relevant content for various platforms.
  4. Content Creation:
    • Draft content for the upcoming campus newsletter, including articles, event announcements, and student spotlights.
    • Proofread and edit content to maintain high-quality standards.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and engaging information is shared.
  5. Internship Search Support:
    • Search for internships on platforms like Handshake.
    • Draft spotlight posts for potential internships to be featured in the newsletter.
    • Develop content focused on achieving success during internships.
